Updated 18 September 2026 with Apple's official announcement.
Apple's first foldable iPhone is official, and it is called the iPhone Duo — not the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra, the names used in leaks. It was announced on 9 September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro. Here is what is confirmed, what it costs, and what accessories a folding iPhone needs, because very little you own today will fit it.
We are PhoneHub, a phone accessories store in Hadath, Beirut, and we already sell accessories for Samsung's foldables, so we know where buyers go wrong.
iPhone Duo release date

Lebanon is rarely in Apple's first launch waves, and a new, supply-constrained foldable will likely reach local shops later still. Plan on late 2026 at the earliest.
iPhone Duo price
In the US, the iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 for 256GB and goes up to $3,199 for 2TB. That is $800 more than the iPhone 18 Pro, making it the most expensive iPhone Apple has ever sold. Prices in Lebanon will be higher once import costs are added.
Confirmed specifications

- MagSafe: supported, including Qi2 25W wireless charging.
- Colours: star white and night sky.
- Apple Pencil: support is promised later in 2026.
Before you buy in Lebanon: check eSIM
Because the iPhone Duo has no SIM tray, you will need your line on an eSIM. Check with your carrier — Alfa or touch — that your line can be moved to eSIM before you buy, especially if the phone is imported.
What accessories does the iPhone Duo need?
Cases are a completely separate category. A foldable needs a two-piece case that fits both halves and clears the hinge, or a folio design. No existing iPhone case will fit.
Never put tempered glass on the inner screen. This is the most important thing to know about any foldable. The folding inner display uses a flexible layer that cracks or lifts under rigid glass. The inner screen takes hydrogel or TPU film only. The 5.4-inch outer screen is rigid and can take normal tempered glass. We already see inner-screen damage from glass on Samsung Z Folds.
MagSafe accessories work. Apple confirmed MagSafe and Qi2 25W support, so magnetic chargers, car mounts and wallets are an option — as long as your case is MagSafe-compatible.
Charging carries over. USB-C is USB-C — your 20W+ adapters and USB-C cables work. See chargers and adapters.
A power bank is worth having. Two screens and a large multitasking canvas drain a battery faster than a normal phone. Browse our power bank range.
Audio is unaffected. AirPods and earbuds work with any iPhone — see sound and audio.
Should you buy one?
Probably not, if this would be your only phone. It is a first-generation product at nearly twice the price of an iPhone 18 Pro, with no Face ID, no telephoto camera, and a folding screen that is expensive to repair. Samsung has been refining foldables since 2019. Apple's second generation will be the safer buy.
Consider it if you genuinely work on your phone — documents, two apps side by side, sketching once Pencil support arrives — and the 7.6-inch screen would replace a tablet in your bag.
For most people, an iPhone 18 Pro Max costs much less and has a better camera system. See iPhone 18 Pro Max cases and accessories.
